| Name: | Amycus Carrow | |||||||||
| Bio: | 1.Character Name: Amycus Carrow 2.Age/Birthdate: October 2nd, 1958 3.Wand: 12", unicorn hair, pine 4.Bloodline: Pureblood 5.Why this character: Nij is a character whore and so am I? 6.What is said about your character on the lexicon? If you changed canon facts, what did you change?: Alecto is his sister, they've never been to Azkaban and they were each teachers at Hogwarts during Snape's time as Headmaster. Amycus 'taught' Defense. 7.Look at the available/taken list and put which characters (at least ten names) that your character would interact or be familiar with: Alecto Carrow, Voldemort and other Death-Eaters. 8.PB: Ryan Francis 9.Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual 10.Personality: Amycus is a brute of a man and a little insane. Actually he's rather off the deep end and unstable as fuck, he's not too brilliant when it comes to regular conversation but can cast a hell of a powerful hex when it occurs to him to do so. He's rather daft in most cases and mostly just uses his brute strength and sheer insanity as a means of control. He's never afraid to hurt anyone, be it woman child or man and is never afraid to say whatever dimwitted remark comes to mind. He likes to laugh though and speak to people in baby tones as if they were the dim one that needed extra explaining to understand what he's saying. He's also very short tempered and easy to set off which may or may not be a bad thing. He doesn't know how to control himself and his only outlet is violence and it's generally aimed at his younger sister or whoever happens to be in his way at the time. All around he's a rather unstable man to be around, unpredictable in his actions but easy to piss off. 11.Family: Just read on and you'll figure it out 12.Personal History: The original line came straight from Greece and while Alecto wasn't born there, her father surely was. It used to be a strong, rich line with many other Roman names following along side of it. Much to her father's disappointment, it became slightly diluted by lesser names. While still pure, it was not exactly "Carrow material". He moved to the U.K in search of a wife as his own blood was very connected and bordered on near incest. Ironically he ended up marrying someone he was related to anyway out of fear. Achilles married into the Burke family, their daughter Rosemarie. She was the daughter of Carcaturas Burke, but her blood seemed to be too thick because Carcaturas married a Selwyn who was a somewhat blood relative, a second cousin of sorts. Achilles traveled for some time to find a wife and he matched himself with Rosemarie anyway. The Carrow family started with just Achilles and his wife, although a second cousin, Rosemarie. The two of them had their first child, Amycus, who was almost three years apart from Alecto. The pregnancies were hard on the family and upon Alecto's birth, Rosemarie died of complications shortly after. Amycus and Achilles took it incredibly hard and found fault with the youngest daughter. Achilles wanted nothing to do with her. He was upset that he'd lost his wife and would now have to do the child rearing on his own. Amycus was often forced to take care of his sister, changing her diapers and feeding her. When they needed help, they owled one of their Aunts or Uncles (Achilles is one of six siblings and Rosemarie had four) to come by and show them what to do. Amycus was frequently annoyed with Alecto and often refused to take care of her when she got older. He was always angry and this lead to her getting pushed around by her father and brothers. There was nobody to pay attention to her while they took care of themselves. Eventually, Amycus offered cruel treatment when she kept asking for attention, even going as far as putting her in a closet. Her childhood was spent being told that she needed to "man-up" and it was even to the point to where she wore men's clothing because that is what she believed they wanted. She wanted to do things to please her father. Achilles was ashamed of himself for ignoring her, but looking at her reminded him of Rosemarie. Achilles ordered Amycus to yell at her to be more aggressive and then told not to be. For a child this was very confusing. Her personality is a little explosive, not by temper but by unpredictability. She might say something mean or she might take it, if she's encouraged then she'd keep it up and when she's not, she is silent. Alecto's behavior made her socially awkward and she often fell behind when it came to trying to be friends with others. During her years in childhood, she came to the conclusion that there was nobody to take care of her. Alecto did her best to not complain about any problems of her own unless it was too much for her to handle on her own. This gave her a sort of independence of relying completely on herself unless it was of dire circumstances. By living this way underneath her brothers, she also became self-assertive and naive at the same time. She had no real parenting or show of what loving was really like and she assumed that things in books she read were just fake. She knew what was happening to her was wrong but never brought it up when asked. She had a feeling that every family was like hers. It was disappointing for her to realize this by herself. During the year that Amycus was gone for school, she stole her father's books and forced herself to read them as difficult as they might have been. While this seemed very strange for a child to do, she had an ambition to show that she was just as smart as he was. Just as she had one year left before she could attend, she wrote a letter to the Head Master and explained her situation. She believed she could go to school one year earlier than she needed to, but that wasn't the case and she was rejected. Alecto was unbelievably disappointed and angry with herself, but she told no one of what she did. All she could do was wait one more year. The last year before school, all she wanted to do was read books so she could at least best her brothers as far as grades were concerned. It was an unhealthy obsession; she felt that maybe if she did something that could get her noticed that maybe Achilles would love her back. She was striving to be something successful and independent that didn't involve having to need her brother for anything, enough to show that she could take care of her father in their old age. When school came around, Amycus appeared to be a bully with others and she followed suit because he pushed her into it. People were unsure if she was really in her right mind because she often did things to contradict her want for education, but in her first few years she pissed away because of her brother. She made friends but they were never really people she wanted to be around, she didn't understand the concept of friendship and only went through the motions she knew, often copying her brother and spending time with his friends. Alecto spent more than 90% of her time doing what Amycus wanted and not paying attention to her school work like she thought she should have been. By the time Amycus had one year left, she had the ability the open up and fights with her studies, exploring even more when he left school. Putting her nose to the grind, she chose to work with her marks and bring them up until she was nearing top marks in her classes for the future. She also received the position of Prefect in her fifth and sixth year, Head Girl in her seventh. Alecto graduated Hogwarts with extremely high marks, high enough to help her get her dream job; an Unspeakable. Alecto was even given her first achievement when she received the Prefect Badge upon moving to her fifth year, her family was extremely proud of her with exception of her brother and father; they didn't care. The rest of her school years were nothing short of completely boring, she worked hard and even entered the Slug Club in her sixth year and became Head Girl in her Seventh. After school, she started working under Augustus Rookwood in the Department of Mysteries. The two became very close but she didn't risk the things that he did by working at the Ministry and telling things to Voldemort. Alecto wasn't a very good liar when it came to stressful things like that, that's why she remained ignorant. During her time with Augustus, she eventually became convinced to join the ranks of the Death Eaters. Her marking came in 1979, she was excited but felt that she would let him down but she never really did. After the torturing of the Longbottoms, people that were exposed to be Death Eaters were put on trial. Amycus and Alecto claimed to be with one another and Amycus did most of the lying for Alecto and she just kept to the story. Eventually, they were set free and she kept her job, trying to live in hiding with her brother and writing her childhood crush, Rabastan Lestrange, letters as often as she could. Alecto kept up words with her fellow Death Eaters and was one of the first people who appeared on the night Voldemort returned. Ever since then she has been working along Death Eaters and Lord Voldemort loyally.
